About Elkin

I owe everything I am, both personally and professionally, to my parents: Jacinto Rivero and Mariela Cruz de Rivero. My best mentors for over thirty years. My mother was my father’s greatest support and the backbone of his company. Together, they made a great team. I grew up seeing his passion and dedication in helping others.

In 2000, I left my country, Venezuela, for a student exchange program, which allowed me to complete my studies at the University of Regina, Canada. Then, fate took me to Ibaraki, Japan, where I was part of another exchange program but as an international educator. These experiences enriched my vision of the world both personally and professionally.

In 2003, I moved to Houston, Texas, then the city of Dallas, where I currently reside. In 2012, the same year my first and only daughter Emilia was born, I completed my master’s degree at the University of North Texas M.Ed.

About Elkin Rivero

I entered the insurance world in 2016, thanks to the mother of a former student. Having the support and guidance was very important as an immigrant, especially in obtaining my license. It allowed me to establish and exploit my passion for the incredible and complicated world of insurance.

I am married to Mariana Abaid De Rivero, a Dyslexia teacher. Her dedication and love for helping her students are what I admire the most about her. We share the same passion in helping others. She is my support, my partner, my best friend and more.

My best advice as an immigrant is to be patient with the process. The educational field and insurance have allowed me to get to know other cultures and other ways of thinking, where diversity is fascinating and has led me to better prepare and guide others.

I always put myself in other immigrants’ shoes. I will never stop being Venezuelan as well as an immigrant, no matter how long I am in this country. I will be here to help you in the best way possible.

This page is dedicated with love to my family.

Sincerely,

Elkin Alexander Rivero, M.Ed
